NepTown community spaces are for useful, respectful local conversation. These guidelines apply to posts, replies, polls, reviews, reports, and any other content shared through community features. They also reflect the standards we expect when people interact with each other through listings and inquiries.
Be respectful
- Disagree with ideas without attacking the person.
- Do not harass, threaten, intimidate, or encourage others to target someone.
- Do not use hateful slurs or attack people based on identity, religion, caste, ethnicity, gender, disability, or background.
- Do not post someone's private information, including home address, phone number, documents, or private messages, without permission.
Be accurate and honest
- Do not invent news, reviews, events, or business claims.
- Label opinions and speculation as such.
- Share sources when making serious factual claims about people or organizations.
- Correct mistakes when you learn about them. Use the report or contact form if a correction is needed.
- Do not coordinate fake engagement, reviews, or votes.
Keep it local and relevant
NepTown focuses on Lahan and nearby communities. Posts should be relevant to local people, services, events, or issues. Repeated off-topic promotion, national political campaigning, and bulk unrelated content may be removed.
No spam, scams, or manipulation
- Do not post repetitive ads, referral links, or copied content unrelated to the discussion.
- Do not ask for advance payments, credentials, or sensitive documents in a way that could facilitate fraud.
- Do not impersonate a person, business, organization, or government office.
- Do not use multiple accounts to evade moderation or manipulate votes.
Prohibited content
The following content is not allowed:
- Content that sexually exploits or endangers minors.
- Threats of violence, incitement, or instructions for serious harm.
- Content that promotes illegal activity or the sale of illegal goods.
- Non-consensual intimate images or private sexual content.
- Malware, phishing links, or attempts to compromise accounts.
- Copyright or trademark infringement.
- Any content that violates applicable law.
Reviews and business discussions
Reviews should reflect real experiences. Do not post a review to pressure a business for a discount, attack a competitor, or post on behalf of someone else. Business owners should respond factually and should not impersonate customers. If you believe a review is fake or abusive, report it and include the relevant URL.
Reporting problems
Use the report option on community content where available, or submit our abuse report form. Include a link to the content, the reason, and enough context for us to review it. Do not repost the content in an attempt to shame or expose someone.
Moderation and enforcement
We review reports and may remove content, ask you to edit it, limit features, or suspend accounts. Enforcement depends on the seriousness and history of the behavior, and we may act immediately for threats, fraud, or illegal content. We do not guarantee a specific response time or that every report will result in removal.
Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision was mistaken, contact us with the relevant link and an explanation. We may reconsider decisions, but repeated violations can lead to permanent restrictions.
