This Editorial Policy describes the standards NepTown aims to follow for news, notices, guides, event information, directory descriptions, and other content presented as editorial material. It does not apply to third-party websites we link to or to advertisements.
Local focus
NepTown publishes information primarily for Lahan and nearby communities. We prioritize information that is useful to local residents and clearly relevant to the area. We do not claim to cover every local event or issue.
Sourcing and verification
- We try to identify the source of important factual claims.
- We prefer primary sources, public records, direct interviews, and official notices.
- We may publish user-submitted notices or press releases when they are clearly attributed and useful, but attribution is not an endorsement.
- We avoid presenting unverified rumors as confirmed facts.
- When information cannot be independently verified, we aim to say so clearly.
Accuracy and headlines
Headlines and summaries should reflect the substance of the content and should not mislead. We try to distinguish news from opinion, promotion, and community discussion. If a detail changes after publication, we may update the article or add a correction note.
Attribution and authorship
We credit sources and do not publish invented author names, biographies, or credentials. Where content is submitted by a business, organization, or community member, we aim to identify that context. NepTown may edit submissions for length, clarity, formatting, or policy compliance.
Corrections
If you believe something published by NepTown is inaccurate, contact us with the page URL and the specific correction. We review credible correction requests and may update the content, add a note, or remove material that cannot be supported. Corrections are not guaranteed for disagreements of opinion.
Advertising and editorial independence
Advertising and sponsored content should be distinguishable from editorial content. Payment for a promotion does not give an advertiser control over news coverage or the right to suppress accurate reporting. We may decline advertising that is misleading, harmful, or inconsistent with our standards.
User-generated content
Community posts, reviews, listings, and comments are user-generated. They do not necessarily reflect NepTown's views. We may review or remove content under our Community Guidelines and Business Listing Guidelines, but we do not guarantee that all content is accurate or appropriate.
Photos and media
We aim to use images that are relevant and that we have permission to use. Images from third parties may be credited where possible. If you believe an image infringes your rights, contact us with the URL and supporting details.
